Groups and Channels
There are several differences between SMSjunction
Groups and Channels. Here are the main ones:
SMSjunction Groups
SMSjunction Groups are made up of a group of people
who exchange messages with each other. Anyone
can start a Group. Anyone can send out a message
to the entire Group or to any individual member
of the Group.
If
a Group is public anyone can join (no approval
required for membership.) If a Group is private
anyone can ask to join but the Group founder
still has the final say on who gets in. If a
Group is secret you can only get in if you get
an invite from one of the Group members.
If you get tired of a Group you can put it on
hold at any time by changing your Active mode
to Away on your personal Home page. You will
not receive any messages while in Away mode
but you will still have access to your Group
Home page where you can read and listen to messages.

Channels
SMSjunction Channels are made up of a group of
people who may or may not know each other. Only
the Channel founder can send out messages to
the Channel.
If you and another member share a Channel but
no Groups you will not be able to exchange messages
with each other. This is done for your protection.
There is no approval process to join a Channel.
Any SMSjunction member is automatically admitted
after clicking the channel's "Join" button.
If
you get tired of a Channel you can put it on
hold by clicking the "Active" toggle to "Away"
on your Home page. When you wish to continue
receiving the channel's content simply click
the toggle back to "Active".
